Mackay Nursing Services

The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with a disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs or volunteering in their community and an improved quality of life.

The NDIS also connects anyone with a disability to services in their community. It is for people under the age of 65 years.

Continence is the ability to control your bladder and bowel. Incontinence is the involuntary loss of bladder and bowel control.

A continence assessment looks at the reasons for the incontinence or bladder and bowel challenge and how to best support the person to manage it.

This can range from recommendations that address the cause of the incontinence to improved management techniques that can reduce the impact on lifestyle or referral to another health professional as required eg GP, urologist, gastroenterologist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, etc.

We provide NDIS and privately funded client continence assessments and NDIS reports.

We also provide continence management – including regular SPC and IDC changes (including after hours) and liaising with other health professionals involved in the client’s care.

If you are eligible, we can also apply for MASS and CAPS government funding/continence aids.

In addition, we can also assess NDIS and private clients for PAS (Cognitive) Assessment, Falls Risk Assessment, General Top to Toe Assessment, and Diabetes and Medication Assessments.

The cost of our services varies for a variety of reasons.

Please contact us directly and we will be happy to talk with you about the cost of your required service.

Usually, it takes 1-2 hours to complete the continence assessment. The NDIS report and research of products usually takes 2-3 hours.
